Galium kamtschaticum var. acutifolium
is a perennial herb in conifer forests in the
subalpine zone; rhizomes are thin, scrawling underground shallowly,
branching, and making fibrous roots at nodes. Stems are square and
erect, 20-40cm in size. Leaves are in four whorls, in the shape of
an oblong or long-oblong, 2-5cm long, with tips pointed and bristles
on both surfaces and margins. Stem tips or axils on the upper parts
emerge in cymes, bearing small, yellow-green flowers that are
sparsely set. Bloom time: June-July.
