Goodyera foliosa var. laevis
is an evergreen perennial that inhabits
forests in mountainous regions, with the basal parts crawling on the
ground and the upper portions extending diagonally upward to 5-10cm
in height. The leaves are of alternate phyllotaxis, with two to four
centimeters long, wavy margins. From shoot-apexes emerge some light
red flowers facing almost one side; the sepals measure approximately
8mm long, in the shape of an oblong ovate, and lateral petals and
lips are the same length. The lateral petals' tips are slightly
coalescent to the sepals, and the lip's basal parts swell. Bloom
time: August-September. |
