Gymnaster savatieri,
a
perennial herb found in the shade of a tree, stem growing to 20-50cm
in height. Leaves are alternate, in an ovate to obovate shape, with
long petioles with wings that gradually become shorter to nothing as
going upward. Flower heads, light blue-purple, singly set themselves
on branch tips, with few ligulate flowers. Involucres are
semi-spherical, about 6mm long, with involucral bracts, pointed
tips, and minute hairs on the margins. Bloom time: May-June. |
