Heteropappus hispidus var. arenarius / Hamabenogiku ハマベノギク

They inhabit sandy soil on seashores. Heteropappus hispidus var. arenarius branches from the base of the plant, which crawls on the ground before extending upward. Leaves on the stems are 2-2.5cm long and 8-9mm wide, have a thick texture, and are spatula-shaped. Flowers, light blue-purple, each approximately 3.5cm in diameter, are singly placed on the branch tips. Bloom time: July-October.
