They inhabit sandy soil on seashores. Heteropappus hispidus
var. arenarius branches from the base of the plant, which
crawls on the ground before extending upward. Leaves on the stems
are 2-2.5cm long and 8-9mm wide, have a thick texture, and are
spatula-shaped. Flowers, light blue-purple, each approximately 3.5cm
in diameter, are singly placed on the branch tips. Bloom time:
July-October. |
