Hosta albo-marginata
is a perennial herb in sunny wetlands in fields and mountains, with
rhizomes that crawl sideways. Leaves, with 10-15 cm long petioles,
are lanceolate to long oblong in shape, 10-20cm long, with bases
that abruptly taper to the petioles. Flower stalks stand erect,
30-40cm tall. Flowers, tubular bell-shaped, 4-5cm long, a few to a
dozen in number, put themselves on flower stalks and bloom facing
sideways or somewhat downward, with purple stripes on a light purple
background. Bloom time: July-August. |
