Hydrangea hirta is a deciduous shrub found in bright forests- or edges in hilly or mountainous districts, whose stems branch on lower parts; the branches extend sideways and grow to 1-2m tall. Leaves, with1.2-4cm long petioles, are of opposite phyllotaxis, 5-8cm long, 5-6cm wide, oval to oblong, sharp tips, bases circular or broadly cuneate, and regularly significantly triangular serrations on margins. Stem tips bear about 5cm-in-diameter corymbs; without ornamental flowers, all the flowers are bisexual, about 4mm across; corolla tubes are bell-shaped and about 1cm long; petals are white to light blue, five in number, and long oblongs. Bloom time: June-July. |
