Hydrocotyle maritima
is a perennial plant inhabiting damp fields, roadsides, or paths
between paddies. Stems are slender, sparsely branched, crawl on the
ground, have fibrous roots at nodes, and the upper parts of the
stems extend obliquely upward. Leaves are in a kidney-shaped
orbicular shape, 2-3cm in diameter, cleft into five, with cordate
bases and margins with obtuse serrations. Axils bear
shorter-than-the-leaf's height peduncles and set ten or more small
greenish flowers gathering together on the tips. Bloom time:
June-October. |
