Hylodesmus oldhamii, a
perennial herb occurring in fields and mountains, grows to 50-120cm
in height, with sparse, coarse, and fine hairs all through. Leaves
are of an imparipinnate compound leaf, with 5-7 leaflets; the
terminal lobes are long oblong or obovate, 6-17cm long, 3-6cm wide,
with tips sharp, margins entire, bases round or obtuse, and
petiolules. Leaves whose texture is somewhat challenging and papery
are gritty, as with the stems and dark green. Stem tips and axils
emerge about 50cm long racemes in which many light pink
papilionaceous flowers bloom. Bloom tie: August-September. |
