Illicium anisatum is
an evergreen shrub or small tree growing to 2-5m in height with
alternate leaves in the shape of a long-oblong of 4-10cm in length.
Axils bear 2-3cm-in-diameter yellow-white flowers. Fruit (aggregate
fruit of follicles) matures in September. The whole contains a
poisonous substance, especially the fruit is deadly poisonous. Bloom
time: March-April. |
