Iris sanguinea is a perennial
herb that inhabits somewhat dry grasslands, characterized by its
sword-shaped leaves, which are 30-60 cm in length and 0.5-1 cm in
width. Its flower stalks extend to 30-60 cm in height and bear 2-3
purple flowers at the end. Outer perianth lobes, measuring 6cm in
length, drooping at the ends, with striking yellow reticular
patterns from the center parts to the base portions. Bloom time:
