Isachne globosa,
a perennial herb 30-50cm tall, grows in ditches, paddies, or
wetlands. Rhizomes crawl long beneath the ground, and the stems
sparsely branch at lower parts. Leaves, with alternate phyllotaxis,
are 4-7cm long and 3-8cm wide, and have a narrow lanceolate shape.
Inflorescences are 3-6cm long, in the form of a cone; their branches
are slender, with many spikelets tinged pale green or purple-brown.
Pedicels have bulged with glands. Bloom time: June-August. |
