Isodon longitubus, a perennial found in the shade of a
tree in mountainous regions, grows to 70-100cm in height, with stems
with a square cross-section and downward-facing ridges. Blades
measure 7-15cm long, 2.5-5cm wide, long oblong, with sparse hairs on
surfaces, with bases becoming cuneate-like wings to follow petioles.
Stem tips and axils generate slender spikes and arrange flowers
one-sidedly on them; upper lips are cleft into three, with the lobes
obtusely triangular, and lower lips are shallowly cut into two,
obtuse. Corollas are blue-purple, 1.2-2cm long, and the basal
portions expand. Bloom time: September-October. |
