Isodon longitubus,
a
perennial found in the shade of a tree in mountainous regions, grows
to 70-100cm in height, with stems a cross-section of a square with
downward hairs of ridges. Blades measure 7-15cm long, 2.5-5cm wide,
long oblong, with sparse hairs on surfaces, with bases becoming
cuneate-like wings to follow petioles. Stem tips and axils generate
slender spikes and arrange flowers one-sidely on them; upper lips
cleft themselves in three with the lobes obtusely triangular and
lower lips shallowly cut in two, obtuse. Corollas are blue-purple,
1.2-2cm long, and the basal portions expand. Bloom time:
September-October. |
