Isodon shikokianus var. intermedius, a perennial found in the shade of trees in mountainous regions, grows 40-80cm tall, with downward hairs on its stems. Leaves are 5-13cm long,1.5-4cm wide, in the shape of a broad lanceolate to long ovate, with pointed tips and serrations on margins. Corollas measure 8-11mm in length.
