Juglans mandshurica var. sieboldiana,
a deciduous tree that grows to 7-10 meters in height, occurs in damp
areas such as riverbanks or depressions. Leaves are of an
imparipinnate compound leaf, 40-60cm long, with dense brown vellus-
and glandular-hairs on petioles and rhachises, and 5-9 pairs of
leaflets. The leaflets are 8-18cm long, 3-8cm wide, oblong, with few
petioles, tips shortly pointed, bases somewhat distortedly
truncated, and fine serrations on margins. These plants bloom
simultaneously with the development of leaves. Dioecious: Female
inflorescences are erect on the current year's branch tips, and male
ones hang from the previous year's branch axils. Bloom time:
