Keiskea japonica
is a perennial plant found in the shade of
trees in mountainous regions. The stems have four ridges, grow to
40-90cm in height, and branch on the upper portions. Leaves, with
5-30mm-long, 3-5.5cm-wide petioles, are in the shape of a
long-oblong, and there exist fine hairs on the veins on the
surfaces; the leaf margins have serration. Spikes, 5-12cm long,
emerge from leaf axils and bloom with labiate flowers facing one
side. The corollas, white, are approximately 7mm in size. Bloom
time: September-October. |
