Lespedeza pilosa is
a perennial that grows in sunny grasslands or the like. Stems branch
at parts near the base and crawl along the ground. Leaves comprise
three leaflets, each measuring 1-2cm long and 0.8-1.5cm wide, in the
shape of a broad oblong to broad oval. Three to five white, 7-8mm
long flowers emerge at an axil. Legumes are 3-4mm long and in an
oblanceolate shape. Axils on the upper parts bear cleistogamous
flowers, and the fruit is somewhat smaller. Bloom time:
July-September. |
