Leucanthemum vulgare, a
European perennial, escaped from cultivation, growing wild in
various districts, with stems erect, bases branching to 30-80cm
tall, and coarse hairs. Radical leaves are spoon-shaped, 6-9cm long,
with serrations on margins and coarse hairs, and pass the winter
with the petioles. On-stem leaves are of opposite phyllotaxis, in a
spatulate shape, with serrations on margins, and bases somewhat
embrace the stems. The flower heads are white and approximately 5cm
in diameter. Bloom time: June. |
