Lilium lancifolium, a
perennial herb inhabiting grasslands or forests near a village,
stems grow to 1-2m in height, with dark purple dots. Of alternate
phyllotaxis, leaves measure 5-18cm long, 0.5-1.5cm wide, in the
shape of a lanceolate to broadly lanceolate, with tips pointed, no
petioles, bases bearing black-purple bulbils. Upper parts of the
stems set 10- 12 cm across flowers that bloom sideways or downward;
perianth lobes, orange-red with dark color dots, firmly bend back.
Pollen is dark purple. Bloom time: July-August. |
