Limnophila indica: A
10-70cm tall perennial that grows in marshy grounds. Stems branch
well in the water, and the top portions stand in the waters, with
dense glandular dots and hairs on above-water leaves and no vellum
hairs. Leaves are in whorls of 6-10, and the above-water leaves,
oval to lanceolate-shaped, 5-17mm long, 0.5-5mm wide, deeply cut
themselves in pinnately or have sharp serrations. In-water leaves
split themselves into thread-like segments. Flowers set themselves
singly on axils; corollas are white to light red-purple, tubular,
and 7-11mm in length. Bloom time: August-October. |
