Liriope spicata,
a perennial herb, 10-40cm in height, inhabiting forests in fields
and mountains, with short rhizomes, propagates by extending runners
1m long or more. Leaves are linear, 25-65cm long, and 4-7mm wide,
with acute or obtuse tips and membranous margins on the lower
portions. Flower stalks measuring 20-40cm long bear racemes and set
pale purple flowers that bloom, facing obliquely upward. Bloom time:
July-September. |
