Meehania urticifolia
is a perennial herb occurring in bright forests, its flower
stalks erecting
themselves, growing to 20-30cm in height, with sparse long hairs,
and extending long runners after flowers. Leaves are of opposite
phyllotaxis, blades are 2-5cm in length, with 2-3cm long petioles,
in the shape of a heart-like orbicular-ovate, with obtuse
serrations. Corollas are purple, 4-5cm in length; lower central
lobes are significantly large, bending backward, with dark purple
dots and long divaricate hairs at the tips. Calyxes are tubular,
with 15 veins. Bloom time: April-May. |
