Melilotus officnalis ssp. suaveolens is a 50-90cm tall
biennial herb originating in the Asian continent, growing in
locations near seashores and branching well. Leaves comprise 1.2-3cm
long, three leaflets, and 0.4-1cm wide cuneate-like oblong, with
shallow serrations on margins. Racemes,3-5cm long, emerge from axils
and set many 4-6mm long yellow flowers in them. Fruit (legume)
measures 3-4mm long, with furrows on the surfaces with one or two
seeds. Bloom time: May-October. |
