Microtis
unifolia is a perennial orchid species
inhabiting sunny, low-growing grasslands not far from
the seashores, possessing a pseudobulb underground, from
which a single stem with a single leaf ascends. The leaf
is slender and hollow, 10-40cm long, and the end droves
gently. Flower stalks stand erect and set 20-30 green,
around 3mm-in-width flowers on the upper portion in a
racemose way. Bloom time: April-May. |
