Miscanthus sinensis is a large perennial in fields and
mountains, 1-2m in height, found wherever one goes. Its stems grow
in clusters. Leaves measure 50-80cm long and 0.7-2cm wide, linear
and stiff, with awfully sandy margins and thick midribs. Ligules
have hairs on the margins. Inflorescences measure 15-30cm long, and
their central figures are short, emerging with many branches in a
radial pattern. Bloom time: August-October. |
