Mosla
japonica var. thymolifera:
An annual herb; much is not known about its distribution. I found a
small population on a sunny, rocky cliff by the seacoast on August
25, 2014. Since then, I have yet to find one. Stems are 4-ridged,
with many downward white hairs, and leaves are opposite, in the
shape of an oblong-ovate, 1-3cm long, with sparse serrations and
long hairs on margins, and many hairs on surfaces. Stem tips and
axils emerge with 1-3cm long inflorescences, setting around 3cm in
diameter, with labiate flowers. Bloom time: August-October. |
