Oenothera rosea, a
perennial herb originating in South America, now grows in
populations on roadsides all over the country. Stems grow in the
crowd, tingeing reddish. Leaves are of alternate phyllotaxis, with
blades 3-5cm long and an oblong shape with undulated margins.
Flowers are light red with red veins, with bases tingeing
yellow-green; petals are four in number,1-1.5cm in diameter, and
3-5cm in length. Bloom time: May-September. |
