Olantanthera florentii is
a perennial orchid found in forest beds; stems are somewhat thin,
20-40cm in height, and have green, vertical ridges. Leaves, 2 in
number, each opposite at the base, are oblong, measuring 5-12cm in
length, glossy, and the margins shrunk in a wavy way. On the stems,
there exist some small-scale-like leaves in an alternate phyllotaxis
way. Green flowers, 5-10 in number, bloom in a racemose arrangement
on the stem tops. Sepals and petals are approximately 5cm in length,
lips about 1cm, and spurs 1.5-2cm long, curving downwards. Bloom
time: August-September. |
