Olantanthera florentii
is a perennial orchid found in forest beds; stems are somewhat thin,
20-40cm tall, and have green, vertical ridges. Leaves, 2 in number,
each opposite at the base, are oblong, measuring 5-12cm in length,
glossy, and the margins are wavy. On the stems, small-scale leaves
are arranged in an alternate phyllotaxis. Green flowers, 5-10 in
number, bloom in a racemose arrangement on the top of the stem.
Sepals and petals are approximately 5cm long, lips about 1cm, and
spurs 1.5-2cm long, curving downwards. Bloom time: August-September. |
