Ophiopogon jaburan is a perennial growing in colonies in coastal forests. The linear leaves are thick and glossy, measure 30-80cm in length, 1-1.5cn in width. Flower stalks, growing to 30-50cm in height, are fasciated, having some narrow wings; the flowers in racemes are white, blooming in July-September.
