Orobanche minor, a
naturalized annual herb of 15-40cm in height, originating in Europe
or Africa, is parasitic on plants in Fabaceae like Trifolium
repens. The whole is light yellow-brown, with dense glandular
hairs throughout and stems with sparse leaves degenerated into
scales. Flowers are delicate yellow-brown, 1.2-1.5cm long, attaching
at the bases of the rankings; upper lips shallowly split into two
and the lowers into three, with irregular notches. Sepals' tips
extend long in a tail way. Bloom time: May-June. |
