Panax japonicus is
a perennial herbaceous plant inhabiting forests in mountainous
regions. Stems stand erect, with leaves in whorls of 3-5 on tops.
The leaves are of a palmate compound comprising five leaflets with
long petioles. Stem tops emerge with single flower stalks with
spherical umbels, in which many small yellow-green flowers bloom.
Fruit matures in red. Bloom time: June-August. |
