Paris tetraphylla
is a perennial herb that inhabits forests in
mountainous regions. Stems are 15-40cm in height, with 4-10cm long
four-petiole leaves in whorls on the tops; stem tips produce 3-10cm
long peduncles and set green flowers facing upward; outer perianth
segments, 4 in number, are lanceolate in shape, 1-2cm in length, and
inner perianths do not exist. Stamens are 8 in number. With pistils,
stigmas cleft themselves in four. Bloom time: May-August. |
