Paris verticillata
is a perennial herb growing to 20-60cm tall. Leave, petiole-less,
are in whorls of 6-8; blades are oblanceolate, 5-15cm in length,
1.5-4cm in width, with tips pointed and margins entire. Stem tips
bear long peduncles, which support light yellow-green flowers that
face upward. The flowers measure 4-6cm in diameter; outer perianth
lobes, green, are 4 in number, in the shape of lanceolate to
oblong-ovate, 3-4cm in length. Bloom time: June-July. |
