Perilla frutescens var. acuta f. viridis is a China-originating annual that escaped from cultivation and naturalized, with a fragrant scent throughout. The plants measure 50-10cm in height, with green stems and leaves. The stems are square and hairy, with the opposite, broadly oblong leaves with serrated margins.
