Perilla frutescens var. acuta f. viridis
is a China-originating
annual that escaped from cultivation into the wild and naturalized,
with fragrance throughout. The plants measure 50-10cm in height,
with green stems and leaves. The stems are square and hairy, with
the opposite, broadly oblong leaves with serrated margins. Flowers,
white, set themselves in racemes. Bloom time: August-October. |
