Persicaria praetermissa is
an annual that occurs on water's edges. Stem's lower portions crawl
on the ground, take roots, and branch, and the upper parts stand
30-80cm tall and have ridges with downward prickles. Leaves are
4-10cm long, with tips tapering, bases hastate, papery, with stings
on margins, petioles short or lacking, leaf sheaths are brown and membraneous, 7-17mm long. Branch tips cleft in 2-3 sparsely set
flowers at the new tips in a raceme way. Perianths are red and about
3mm long. Bloom time: May-October. |
