annual with an approximate height of approximately one meter, having
sharp prickles on the stems, occurs on roadsides, forest edges, or
water edges. Its leaves are arranged in alternate phyllotaxis, each
in the shape of a triangle, 3-8cm in length, with pointed tips.
Flowers, ten or so in number, bloom in clumps on branch tops.
Perianths are cleft in five segments; the upper part red, the lower
white. Bloom time: May-October. |
