Pilea petiolaris is a perennial herb, 40-80cm in
height, that grows on damp forest floors in mountainous regions. The
stems are weak, and the nodes are expanding. Leaves, with long
petioles, are in the shape of an oblong with shortly pointed tips,
three prominent veins, and the leaf margins are serrated. P.
petiolaris, monoecious, emerges male inflorescences and female ones
from separate leaf axils, respectively; flowers are all light green;
male flowers have four tepals and four stamens, and female ones have
three tepals. Bloom time: July-October. |
