Pilea petiolaris
is a perennial herb, 40-80cm in height, that grows on damp forest
floors in mountainous regions. The stems are weak, and the nodes are
expanding. Leaves, with long petioles, are in the shape of a long
oblong with shortly pointed tips, three prominent veins, and the
leaf margins are serrated. P. petiolaris, monoecious, emerges male
inflorescences and female ones from separate leaf axils,
respectively; flowers are all light green; male flowers have four
tepals and four stamens, and female ones have three tepals. Bloom
time: July-October. |
