Pilea pumila, an
annual, the whole being green, occurs in damp, shady places. Stems
are erect, 30-50cm in length. The leaves are of opposite phyllotaxis,
with long petioles, diamond-shaped, ovate, coarse serrations on the
margins, and three prominent surface veins. At the axles, mingle
male and female flowers. The flowers are green, and many females
turn red. Bloom time: July-October. |
