Polygonatum inflatum, a
perennial herb of 30-70cm in height, inhabits forests in mountainous
regions, with stems cylindrical at lower parts and curves at upper
legs in a bow way, with ridges on them. Leaves are of alternate
phyllotaxis; blades are 7-15cm long, 7-8.5cm wide, long-oblong to
broad-oval, with tips obtuse, bases around, and margins entire. The
leaves feel soft, and the backsides tinge white, with short
petioles. Axils droop peduncles and 3-7 light yellow-green flowers
set themselves together on the tips with bracts; the bracts are
membranous, 5-10mm in length, in a lanceolate shape. Sap fruit, 10mm
across, spherical, mature in black. Bloom time: May-July. |
