Polygonum filiforme, a
perennial of 50-80cm in height, grows on the edges of thickets or
groves in a usual manner. Leaves are 7-15cm long, in the shape of an
oblong or obovate, of alternate phyllotaxis, and often with blackish
V-shaped taches on surfaces. The stem tops bear approximately 30cm
long, slender racemes with small, sparsely-set flowers blooming
sideways. Perianths are cleft in 4 lobes; the upper three are red
and the lower one white. Bloom time: August-October. |
