Premna microphylla, a
deciduous small tree, generally grows as tall as 2m. Leaves are
opposite, 4-12cm long, 2.5-7cm wide, broad oval, with tips shortly
pointed, bases streaming toward petioles, margins entire; however,
some pairs of prominent serrations are present on young trees, the
upper surface has no hairs, and white hairs are present on the veins
on the lower surfaces. Branch tips give birth to panicles and
sparsely set pale yellow flowers. Corollas are 5-10mm long and
tubular; the upper parts are cleft into four and become somewhat
tubular. Bloom time: May-June. |
