Pseudolysimachion schmidtianum ssp. senanense
occurs in weathered rocks, specifically a type of volcanic rock
known as dacite, in full sunlight at an altitude of 1,100 meters
above sea level in this prefecture. It grows to approximately 15cm
in height and bears several bluish-purple flowers in inflorescences;
the flowers bloom facing sideways. Leaves are of alternate
phyllotaxis, 3-4cm long, with double-serrations on their margins,
and pointed tips. Bloom time: May-June. |
