Rhynchospora chinensis is
a perennial in sunny wetlands, ponds, sides, etc. The plant bodies
grow in clusters, reaching heights of 40-100cm, with slender, erect
stems and sparsely arranged, alternating leaves. The leaves are
shorter than the stems, narrowly linear, about 3.5mm wide, with the
upper parts ridged and tips sharp. Inflorescences are corymbose,
with 3-6 flowers set, and the lower ones hang somewhat. Spikelets
are 7-9mm long, broadly lanceolate-shaped, brown to dark brown, and
not glossy, comprising single florets covered with some scales.
Bloom time: July-October. |
