Salvia nipponica
is a perennial herb that reaches 20-40cm in
height, growing in the shade of trees in mountainous regions. Leaves
are 5-10cm long, forming a triangular hastate shape. Stem tips give
birth to inflorescences that support 2.5 to 3.5cm long, yellow
labiate flowers in several levels. Bloom time: August-October.
