Saxifraga cortusaefolia is a perennial herb that grows on
damp cliffs in mountainous regions. Radical leaves are in clusters,
with 5-15cm long petioles; the blades are circular kidney-shaped,
5-15cm long, 4-10cm in width, cleft in 7-11, with bases cordate and
sparse hairs throughout. Scapes measure 10-15cm height, and many
flowers are in close inflorescences. The white petals are 5 in
number, the upper three are small, and the lower two are
long-oblong-shaped, 1.2-2.5cm long. Stamens are 10, and the anthers
are orange-yellow. Bloom time: September-November. |
