Saxifraga fortunei var. suwoensis is
a perennial that occurs on rocks or old mossy fallen tree trunks
that are consistently damp along mountain torrents in hilly
districts. Flower stalks measure 10-30cm in height, and rhizomes are
short and do not produce runners. Leaves are radical, with long
petioles; 5-15cm long, kidney-like, circular, cleft halfway in 5-7,
with coarse hairs on the surfaces. Stem tips generate umbels that
bloom with white five-petaled flowers - the upper three are small
and the lower two long. Bloom time: July-October.
