Setaria viridis var. pachystachys f. rofescens is a 5-20cm-in-height perennial herb occurring in seashores. Stems branch at the bases, fall and spread on all rosette sides. Leaves are thick and 5-10cm in length. Inflorescences are 1-4cm long and 1-1.5cm, in an ovate-like oblong, erect, with dense 1-2cm-long purple bristles at the bases of spikelets.
