Siegesbeckia pubescens
is an 0.8-1.2m-tall annual that grows in fields and mountains, with
dense white divaricate hairs on the upper parts of stems. Leaves
with long petioles with wings are opposite; blades measure 8-19cm
long, 5-18cm wide, ovate or ovate-like triangular, with dense white
hairs on back side veins, which look velvety. Yellow flower heads
attach branch tips gathering together in a corymb way. The flower
heads are about 2cm across; the center portions are tubular flowers
surrounded by single rows of ligulate flowers. Involucral bracts are
five and divaricate. The involucral bracts and receptacles are
sticky with dense glandular hairs. Bloom time: September-October. |
