Silene sieboldii
is a perennial herb that grows 30-80 cm in height and occurs in
Japanese pampas grass fields or other similar habitats. Stems are
erect, with downward hairs, and without petioles; leaves are of
opposite phyllotaxis, 5-8cm long, 2.5-4.5cm wide, in the shape of an
ovate, with sparse hairs and margins entire. Flowers set themselves
sparsely in dichasial cymes; petals, 5 in number, measure 2.5-3.5cm
across and open flat; calyxes are cylindrical, 2.5-3cm in length.
