Smilacica japoncum is
a perennial herb inhabiting mountainside forests, with rhizomes
4-7mm in diameter, crawling sideways. Stems measure 20-70cm in
height, and leaves are in the shape of an ovate-like
long-oblong,6-15cm in length, with hairs on both sides. Stem tips
give panicles coarse hairs and set many white flowers in them. Perianth lobes are narrow-oblong, being 3-4mm in length. Sap fruit
mature dark red. Bloom time: May-July. |
