Solidago altissima is
an originating-in-North America perennial and has naturalized and
spread throughout the country. It grows in significantly large
colonies on river banks or wastelands, reaching as tall as 2.5
meters. Stems or leaves feel sandy with short hairs. The leaves are
6-13cm long lanceolate with pointed tips. Stem tips emerge large,
10-50cm long panicles which set many about 6mm across yellow flower
heads. Bloom time: October-November. |
