Solidago altissima, a perennial
originating in North America, has naturalized and spread throughout
the country. It forms significantly large colonies on riverbanks or
wastelands, reaching heights of up to 2.5 meters. Stems or leaves
feel sandy with short hairs. The leaves are 6-13cm long, lanceolate
with pointed tips. Stem tips emerge with large, 10-50cm long
panicles, which set many about 6mm across yellow flower heads. Bloom
time: October-November. |
